Coincidentally some early compositions of Belgian-American guitarist Steve Gibbs turned out to be the ideal material to get the collaboration of Shabnam Parvaresh and Joachim Raffel as a duo started. So six out of totally eleven pieces on their initial album "Rising Red" are taken from Gibbs´ "Geranium Skeleton Cycle". Arranged by Joachim Raffel they correspond as a perfect mixture with two pieces composed by himself and with three spontaneous inventions by Parvaresh and Raffel. Who almost telepathically surf through a scintillating cosmos of Jazz, Minimal Music and Contemporary Improvised Music. Which is about true, fictional and surreal stories and the challenges of modern life.
